WD054 - Teen/Adult Flamenco Dance

with Eve Agush ( The AdamAnt Eve Dancers )
Description In this class, students will learn the exciting dance style flamenco, which originated in Spain where music and dance are a way of life. To the songs of the guitar, Flamenco is an emotional, rhythmic evocation of its musicality, using the mind to shape the expression and the feet as the final percussive instrument. This dance has played an important part in the evolution of what has become modern dance, and is also a very good character class for ballet students. Students will study postura (posture), brazeo (armwork), floreo (handwork), taconeo (footwork), vueltas (turns), and compas (phrasing). This class will provide the students with the skills necessary to learn the choreography taught in the second half of the year. Boys strongly encouraged! This class is for dancers who want to expand their horizons. Ole!
