WD007 - Irish Step Dance for Percussive Dancers

with Kieran Jordan
Description This class will introduce the "hard shoe" style of Irish dancing to experienced percussive dancers. Hard shoe Irish step dancing, made famous by Riverdance, requires precision footwork and an excellent sense of rhythm and timing. This course will cover three basic Irish hard shoe rhythms -- reels, jigs, and hornpipes. Dancers will learn solo and ensemble steps that can be incorporated into other percussive dance combinations. This class is an excellent opportunity for tap dance teachers to learn an Irish dance routine. Intermediate level Irish dancers, as well as dancers with experience in tap, Flamenco, clogging, and Canadian step dancing are welcome. Come to share your shuffle and to make some noise!
